INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 cups unsalted Challenge butter
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups + 1/4 cup all purpose flour, divided
2 cups chocolate chips
1 (11-12 ounce) jar caramel or salted caramel ice cream topping
